Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA is seeking a Patient Care Associate to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks.

Full-time position with 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays. A $3,000 sign-on/retention bonus is offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.

SIGN ON/ RETENTIONBONUS - Totaling $3,000 for Full-Time Patient Care Associates

Department: Level 2
Work Hours: Full-Time 72hrs, Days/Nights, 12hr shifts, Rotating weekends and holidays.

Basic Function: Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications:

Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred:

Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion). Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school. Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). BCLS certification.
