Job summary

NorthWest EMS is seeking Part-Time Patient Care Associates to support Level 2 department operations. Work includes one 12-hour shift and one 8-hour shift weekly with rotating days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities cover direct patient care under a nurse's supervision, assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent bedside manner, and solid computer and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
• Preferred: nursing assistant program completion with proof.
• Preferred: nursing student after first quarter/semester of nursing school.
• Preferred: CNA experience.
• Preferred: BCLS certification.

Totaling $1,500 for Part-Time Patient Care Associates

Basic Function:

• Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse.
• Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety.
• Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

• Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion).
• Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school.
• Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
• BCLS certification.
