Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Associate to deliver direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse. Rotating 12-hour shifts, three per week, with weekends and holidays required, and eligibility for a $3,000 sign-on/retention bonus.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks such as EKG setup or catheter care as indicated, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of required clearances within 90 days of starting.
• Nursing assistant program preferred; CNA certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

SIGN ON/ RETENTION BONUS - Totaling $3,000 for Full-Time Patient Care Associates

*Bonus Eligible* Department: Level 3 , Work Hours: Three 12 hr shifts per week, rotate days and nights, weekends and holidays required.

Basic Function: Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization and transcribing orders, when indicated.

Qualifications:

Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred: Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion). Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school. Previous nursing assistant experience, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). BCLS certification.
