Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York is seeking a Patient Care Associate to support the registered nurse in daily patient care activities within the Specialty Service. You will assist with activities of daily living, collect specimens, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, supporting dietary needs, documenting data, and ensuring patient comfort.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Medical Assistant/Patient Care Assistant with venipuncture and EKG skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with a care team.
• Experience in healthcare settings; 3–9 months preferred.
• Ability to prioritize, solve problems, and exercise good judgment in clinical situations.
• English language proficiency; both spoken and written.
• Certification: American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN with patient care activities and activities of daily living.
• Perform and record vital signs and document intake/output.
• Support patient with mobility, meals, and personal care as needed.
• Assist with specimens collection, venipuncture, EKG, and clean/prepare areas for procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure accurate documentation.
