Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician for the 3B department. Under RN/LPN supervision, you assist in individualized patient care to promote wellness and work as part of a collaborative team.

The position includes a defined training path via an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program; if no prior experience, a 175-hour training is provided. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time incumbents.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or CNA/CPTC or in a healthcare program.
• Experience: None required; training provided.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into EMR.
• Assist with meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility and transport.
• Clerical support duties as needed.
• Phlebotomy/blood cultures; enteral feeding; wound care.
• IV/Foley removal; trach care and suctioning.
