Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician to assist with individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision. The role offers a career ladder toward PCT and beyond, with on-site training and a 1500 USD sign-on bonus for full-time positions.

Responsibilities include vital signs, daily patient support, phlebotomy, enteral feeding, wound care, and IV/Foley removal as part of a comprehensive care team.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in Mercy healthcare program.
• Experience: None required.
• Physical: lifts 50 pounds, stands/walks long shifts, and can bend/knee/twist.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document in the EMR.
• Assist with meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility, and transport.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• Phlebotomy/blood cultures.
• Enteral feeding and wound care.
• IV/Foley removal; trach care/suctioning.
