Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the Labor & Delivery Department. The role supports nursing by performing patient care activities and helping with daily living tasks and charting.

Candidate must provide documentation of required degrees/certifications and meet exam/documentation requirements including an 80% Medical Terminology score and completion of Medical Assistant degree or CNA certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant degree or West Virginia C.N.A. license or PCT Certification required.
• CPR within 90 days of employment.
• Glucoscan within 90 days of employment.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities under nursing or medical supervision.
• Assists with activities of daily living and escorts patients.
• Cleans, takes vital signs, obtains lab specimens and charts.
• Manages clerical duties and orders/receives supplies.

The PatientCare Assistantworks in asupporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing careunder nursing or medical supervision.Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical dutiesand ordering and receiving supplies.
Candidates interviewed for this role will beasked to present proof ofrequired degrees, certificates and/or certificationsat the time of the interview. Candidates unwilling or unable to provide said documentation will not be considered.
To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80%or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam, and proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification.
