Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support our ICU team. You will assist with direct and indirect non-professional nursing tasks under supervision, including basic patient care, charting, and coordinating supplies.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and either a Medical Assistant degree or WV CNA license or PCT Certification. CPR and Glucoscan readiness within 90 days are required, with 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Job description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the ICU. The Patient Care Assistant works in a supporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under nursing or medical supervision. Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical duties and ordering and receiving supplies. Candidates interviewed for this role will be asked to present proof of required degrees, certificates and/or certifications at the time of the interview. Candidates unwilling or unable to provide said documentation will not be considered. To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam, and proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification.
