Job summary

4100 Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to provide direct patient care and perform unit activities under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Duties include taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and handling non-clinical tasks such as patient transport and unit coordination.

The role supports a safe, clean patient environment with 40 hours weekly, onsite at 2014 Washington Street, and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• CPR training required.
• Phlebotomy training and experience preferred.
• Must be able to speak and understand written and oral English communication.
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months of experience as a Nursing Assistant, or is a Nursing student currently enrolled in a formal program who has completed at least one clinical rotation or enrolled in NWH Patient Care Assistant Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide transportation and coordinate equipment and supplies.
• Document patient data in the medical record in a timely manner.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer processes and maintain a safe environment.
