Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is hiring for a full-time Monitor Technician/CNA role on day shifts. You will assist patients with ADLs, monitor vital signs, help with mobility, and support the nursing team.

The role requires patient care certification and BLS, with preferred experience as Monitor Technician in an acute care setting. Benefits include health insurance, retirement options, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current patient care certification required.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation certificate preferred at hire and maintained.
• BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum six months experience as Monitor Technician in an acute care setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting).
• Help with mobility, turning, repositioning, transferring to prevent skin breakdown.
• Take and record vital signs, observe changes and report to nurses; assist with wound care under RN direction.
• Stock and maintain supplies; ensure the environment stays clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.

Location: Harlingen Medical Center – Harlingen, TX

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).

3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

4. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current

5. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.

6. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.

7. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.

8. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

9. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
