Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Monitor Technician/CNA for the Medical Surgical department at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. This full-time position offers Day shifts and 12-hour shifts, with responsibilities spanning ADLs, mobility, vital signs, wound care under RN supervision, and patient transport.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, current patient care certification (CNA/EMT/Paramedic or PCT), BLS, and prior hospital or clinic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A./CNA/EMT/Paramedic/Patient Care Tech, etc.).
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.
