Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the ICU team. The role supports nursing by performing patient care activities, including hygiene, vital signs, specimen collection, and charting under supervision.

Documentation of required degrees and certifications is requested at interview. Candidates should have a high school diploma, Medical Assistant degree or WV CNA license or PCT certification, CPR and Glucoscan within specified timeframes, and 1–2 years of experience

Qualifications

• CPR within 90 days of employment.
• Glucoscan within 90 days of employment.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under supervision.

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking aPatient Care Assistant to work with ourteam in the ICU. The PatientCare Assistantworks in asupporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing careunder nursing or medical supervision.Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical dutiesand ordering and receiving supplies. Candidates interviewed for this role will beasked to present proof ofrequired degrees, certificates and/or certificationsat the time of the interview. Candidates unwilling or unable to provide said documentation will not be considered. To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80%or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam, and proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification.
