Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the 2 North Orthopedics Department. The Patient Care Assistant provides direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under supervision, performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, charting, escorting patients, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Applicants must meet an 80% or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam; acceptable education and licenses include High School

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant degree or WV CNA license or PCT Certification required
• CPR within 90 days of employment
• Glucoscan within 90 days of employment
• 1-2 years of experience preferred

Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing careunder nursing or medical supervision.Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical dutiesand ordering and receiving supplies.

To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80%or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant degree or West Virginia C.N.A. license or PCT Certification required


• CPR within 90 days of employment


• Glucoscan within 90 days of employment


• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
