Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV, seeks a full-time Patient Care Assistant to support the Mother Baby Unit. You will assist nursing staff with direct patient care, perform tasks such as vital signs, basic patient assistance, charting, and supplies management, under supervision.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, a Medical Assistant degree or WV CNA license or PCT Certification, CPR and Glucoscan within 90 days, and 1–2 years experience preferred. EOE as stated.

Job Description

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-timePatient Care Assistant to work with ourteam in the Mother Baby Unit.

The PatientCare Assistantworks in asupporting role to nursing by conducting patient care activities. Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing careunder nursing or medical supervision.Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical dutiesand ordering and receiving supplies.

Candidates interviewed for this role will beasked to present proof ofrequired degrees, certificates and/or certificationsat the time of the interview. Candidates unwilling or unable to provide said documentation will not be considered.

To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80%or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam, and proof of satisfactory completion of a Medical Assistant degree or Certified Nurses Aide certification.
