Job summary

UVM Health is seeking a Clinical Assistant to support Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care inpatient units. You will work under a RN, take vital signs, assist with patient activities of daily living, and help maintain a patient-friendly environment.

You will collect specimens, perform designated tests, and support unit operations while ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Education/Skills required include reading, writing and understanding medical terminology.
• Includes ability to read and understand medical terminology and basic computer use.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: assist RNs with responsive patient care under supervision.
• Testing: perform basic tests and specimen collection as directed.
• Clerical: front-desk-style customer service and unit support.
