Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support daily living activities and provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN. This part-time night shift includes weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications include phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and CNA certification; at least six months acute care experience preferred.

• Schedule: Nights, 7a-7a, part-time, weekend and holiday rotation
• Facility: Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center
• Location: Joliet, IL 60435

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• 2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• 3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• 4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• 5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

• 6. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• 7. High School Diploma or equivalent
