Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the 8W Medical Specialty unit in Joliet, IL. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

This full-time night shift (7p-7:30a) requires CNA certification and a high school diploma, with preference for phlebotomy and EKG credentials and BLS current within 30 days of hire. Prior acute care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred at hire.
• EKG certification preferred at hire.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain a safe environment on the unit under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as Applicable Required)

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
