Job summary

Training starts on an earlier shift before moving to the 12:00 pm shift. A GED/HSED or high school diploma is required, and BLS certification within 45 days, plus Nurse Aide in good standing with the state registry, are required.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days of hire.
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the state registry.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care including bathing, feeding, and ambulation; documents vital signs and other data in EMR.
• Participates in admission/transfer/discharge processes and ensures patient belongings are secure.
• Performs rounds and communicates observations to RN; handles patient positioning and assistive device use.
• Assists with nutrition, skin care, and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as directed; may assist with IVs and post mortem care.
• Maintains infection prevention practices and uses sterile/aseptic technique; adheres to PPE guidelines.
• Coordinates tests and treatments with departments; maintains knowledge of EHR and ordering processes.
• Facilitates communications via multi-line phones and paging; maintains orderly department operations.
• Prepares chart forms for admissions/transfers/discharges; verifies patient demographics and registration.
• Delivers courteous service and supports age-appropriate patient care; adheres to department standards.
