Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Libertyville, IL is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support RNs with patient care during night shifts, Sunday night through Thursday nights, with no weekend work. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, vital signs, specimen collection, and EMR documentation, while upholding safety and infection control standards.

GED/HSED or HS diploma with BLS and active Nurse Aide licensure are required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 45 days and Nurse Aide in good standing.
• GED/HSED or High School Diploma.
• Availability for part-time night shifts Sunday night to Thursday nights; no weekends.
• Ability to follow RN guidance and document accurately in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care, including bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Take and chart vital signs and daily weights in EMR.
• Perform rounding and promptly communicate patient observations to RN.
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes with room setup and belongings management.
• Collect specimens and assist with point-of-care testing.
• Assist with chart delivery, stock maintenance, and equipment cleaning.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, nutrition, and skin care.
• Maintain infection control and proper use of PPE; ensure age-appropriate care.
• Adhere to department policies and participate in ongoing education.
