Job summary

UCI Health in Orange and Irvine, California seeks a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and maintaining a clean, safe unit.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English, and either hold CNA/LVN certification or be enrolled in an accredited nursing program with at least one clinical semester. Current BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Current BLS certification (issued by AHA) preferred or required before hire.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies and operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with other duties as assigned.
