UF Health seeks a dedicated billing specialist to handle incoming calls about patient statements and hospital services. You will research and resolve complex billing issues, educate callers on insurance processes, and make necessary account corrections.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, loading payor plans, filing claims, reviewing remits, and providing billing records upon request. Collaboration with management and other departments is essential.

Formación

• 2 years Physician Medical billing, including follow-up (preferred).
• 2 years Customer service (preferred).
• 1 year Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) preferred.
• Up to 1 year Written Communication preferred.
• Up to 1 year Epic Medical Billing software preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Answer incoming calls from patients, attorneys, insurance companies, clinic staff, and outside facilities.
• Facilitate resolution of billing issues and communicate findings to appropriate departments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and file claims for payment.
• Review remits and EOBs to verify balances and adjust as needed.
• Provide billing records and status updates to patients on request.
• Review HIPAA requests for billing records and respond accordingly.
• Assist patients with Medicaid share of cost and updated eligibility.
• Correct self-pay discounts or package pricing where needed.
• Review and process insurance and patient credits for refunds.
