Job summary

Wolcottwoodandtaylor seeks an SBO Customer Service Specialist to support the Self-Pay Billing Office. You will respond to patient inquiries, manage balance questions, payment options, and charity care screening with HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include handling disputes, updating demographics, and submitting claims for resubmission. Prior call center experience in healthcare is preferred, with Epic proficiency valued.

Qualifications

• Previous call center or customer service experience in the medical field required.
• Working knowledge of Epic is preferred.
• Working knowledge of insurance billing requirements, UB04/HCFA-1500, EOBs, and Medicaid/Medicare rules.

Responsibilities

• Handles all inbound customer service calls for collections, payments, and disputes.
• Maintain service levels; minimize abandonment and RONAs.
• Explain balances and itemized bills; assist payment options.
• Screen for Medicaid or charity care eligibility; create follow-ups.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information.
• Process resubmission of claims and follow up on disputes.
