Job summary

PanCare of Florida is seeking a skilled Patient Accounts Specialist to join our Finance team in Panama City. You will serve as the primary contact for patient billing questions and support, assisting patients, front desk staff, and employees with inquiries, explaining charges, balances, insurance benefits, and payment options.

You will verify Sliding Fee Discount determinations and train staff on program requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in patient accounts or medical billing or related billing role.
• Experience assisting patients with billing questions, balances, or payment arrangements.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls, emails, and messages from internal and external sources.
• Explain charges and payment options clearly to patients.
• Collect payments and resolve barriers on patient accounts.
• Review Sliding Fee Discount Program determinations for policy compliance.
• Document results and maintain exception reports for the program reviews.
• Escalate discrepancies outside policy to Revenue Cycle Manager.
• Provide training to front desk staff on Sliding Fee Discount Program processes.
• Support accounts receivable with claims follow-up, posting, adjustments, denials, and reports.
