Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a billing clerk to support patient interactions, verify insurance, and manage daily billing processes in a clinic setting. You will process appointments, handle reimbursements, and ensure accurate and timely deposits, with overtime as required.

You will maintain confidentiality, communicate with carriers, collect patient fees, provide financial counseling, and support internal controls and monthly close procedures under the Clinic Manager’s guidance.

Qualifications

• One year's current experience with insurance billing and/or medical collection and medical terminology.
• Clear written and spoken English communication skills.
• Associates Degree or collegiate/medical trade completion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance and communicate with carriers for reimbursement.
• Perform daily/monthly close out procedures for internal controls and cash balancing.
• Maintain knowledge of co-pays and deductibles and workers' compensation for accurate billing.
• Promote customer satisfaction with professional communication.
• Maintain compliance with corporate policies for clinic operations.
• Answer phones and direct messages to maintain workflow.
• Input demographic and medical data accurately and collect appropriate fees.
• Assist patient with financial counseling when appropriate.
• Complete goals assigned by Clinic Manager.
