Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Customer Billing Specialist to handle timely, accurate hospital/physician billing account resolutions.

You will respond to inquiries, process payments, review eligibility, and collaborate with families to secure balances while ensuring audit-ready documentation for all collections activity. The role requires 1–2 years in healthcare customer service or billing, solid knowledge of Epic Workqueues and MyChart, and excellent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of hospital billing practices and insurance workflows.
• Experience with Epic Workqueues, MyChart, and account documentation.
• Ability to learn billing systems quickly.

Responsabilités

• Serve as liaison for patient inquiries via phone and written communications.
• Process eligibility and reviewer self-pay issues.
• Resubmit insurance claims when required.
• Explain billing questions to families clearly and empathetically.
• Follow up to ensure timely resolution of accounts.
• Prepare itemized bills and coordinate payments.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for collections.
