Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of customer service experience or 1 year in health insurance preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and general office equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment; team-oriented.

Responsabilités

• Counsels/interviews patients by phone, in-person, or walk-ins to collect demographic and financial data.
• Assists patients in determining eligibility for programs like charity care and benefits.
• Verifies insurance and benefits with patients and employers.
• Completes forms required for patient visits (e.g., accident forms, MSP forms).
• Provides price quotes and determines patient liability; negotiates payment arrangements.
• Sets up deposits, co-payments, and deductibles per policy.
• Maintains compliance with policies and confidentiality; adheres to safety and infection control standards.
• Assists with billing problems in collaboration with Patient Accounting; handles financial inquiries within the hospital.
