Job summary

Community Health of South Florida Inc is seeking a Patient Financial Services Specialist to support billing and encounter processing, verify enrollment, and ensure accurate patient financial data entry.

This on-site, Miami-based role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic ICD9 experience, Medicaid/Medicare knowledge, and strong clerical skills including 20–30 wpm typing, calculator use, good communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• ICD9 coding experience preferred.
• Experience with patient services and familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare.
• Knowledge of insurance, collection, and setup.

Responsibilities

• Register new clients on Intergy per CHI guidelines.
• Research enrollment and update patient profiles.
• Perform financial screening for active clients.
• Process patient payments and balance daily batches.
• Submit daily journal to supervisor and deposits to Accounting.
• Verify insurance carriers and HIPAA compliance.
• Train new employees on patient services functions.
• Maintain professional telephone etiquette and teamwork.
