Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ICD-9 coding experience preferred.
• Experience with patient services; knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare insurance and collections.

Responsibilities

• Register new clients on Intergy per CHI guidelines.
• Research files for previous enrollment in CHI computer system before creating a new medical record number.
• Renew or update existing client profiles as per CHI guidelines.
• Perform financial screening on active clients requesting services.
• Complete tasks timely and collect past-due debts as needed.
• Check-in clients for needed medical services; check-out after services.
• Process patient payments and balance daily batches.
• Submit daily journal to supervisor and batch deposits to Accounting.
• Complete statistics and review patient reminders for overdue items.
• Identify patients who need directives or assessments and provide forms.
• Inform patients to read or complete education materials while waiting.
• Verify Medicare, Medicaid and other insurances.
• Train new employees on registration, cashiering, and payments.
