Job summary

Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital is seeking a Billing Clerk to manage accurate hospital receivables and timely insurance follow-up. You will work closely with families to resolve questions and verify coverage, ensuring clean claims on first submission where possible.

Collaborate with the revenue cycle team and other departments to improve daily processes, maintain compliant records, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; hospital billing experience preferred.
• Experience with medical billing and insurance follow-up preferred.
• Familiar with CMS rules and third-party payer practices.

Responsibilities

• Process bills as soon as received and follow departmental guidelines.
• Follow up on outstanding claims with insurance companies.
• Address patient/family questions; ensure accurate insurance data.
• Coordinate with UM, Medical Records, and ancillary staff to streamline the revenue cycle.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct; document accounts clearly.
