Job summary

Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center is seeking a Patient Accounting Specialist to manage billing and collections for patient accounts. The role emphasizes accurate claim submission, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations while supporting timely cash flow and accurate aging reports.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Business Administration with accounting focus or equivalent experience, plus strong computer and communication skills, with attention to detail

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business Administration with focus on Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Friendly, outgoing personality in dealing with patients/customers (internal and external).
• Proficient in computers, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assure accurate and timely claim submission to payers to achieve revenue, cash collections and A/R objectives.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and compliant documentation per HIPAA and regulations.
• Performs primary and secondary billing for all client/patient accounts with detailed bills and insurance forms as applicable.
• Posts cash receipts accurately and timely for correct aging reporting.
• Operates departmental equipment and performs clerical/data-entry tasks; generates reports for patient financial services and billing.
• Attends staff meetings and training for compliance and changes in healthcare industry.
• Develops and collects data related to metrics to monitor department performance and propose improvements.
