Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires data entry and PC experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Monitors financial responsibility and pre-payment at BVH locations; maintains records.
• Performs insurance verification via phone, fax or online.
• Gathers deductible, coinsurance and copay information; reviews bad debt.
• Estimates costs and explains billing to patients.
• Explains payment options; collects payments by phone or at registration.
• Problem solves and assists diverse customer groups.
• Pre-registers patients as needed.
• Provides Good Faith Estimate information per regulation.
• Acts as liaison between facility and patient/family to resolve issues.
• Participates in training and supports new hires and meetings.
• Adheres to department policies; supports process improvement.
• Reports inconsistencies in electronic health records to supervisor.
• Performs duties aligned with BVH mission and values.
