BayMark Health Services is seeking a Temporary/Full Time Patient Access Representative / Patient Account Representative in Richmond, CA. The role focuses on patient billing, verification of invoices, and third-party billing maintenance in a fast-paced outpatient program.

The candidate should have 2+ years in medical offices, strong customer service, and solid knowledge of Medicaid/insurance billing. The position includes benefits and emphasizes accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years’ medical office experience.
• 2-4 years’ experience with Medicaid, PAC and commercial insurance.
• Excellent customer service and professional presentation, including phone etiquette.
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures, documentation and records maintenance.
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures, gather and compile data into reports.
• Proficient PC skills; Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision and ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Review, maintain, and process fiscal/account records and transactions related to patient’s accounts.
• Verify insurance benefits and billing information; annotate accounts with coverage and patient shares.
• Contact third party payers for payment post billing and resolve billing issues.
• Reconcile daily money and forward information to expedite payment.
• Maintain accurate accounts, signatures, demographics, and correspondence.
• Ensure pre-authorization processes are completed and monitor claim rejections.
• Manage revenue cycle, production logs, balances, and collections for self-pay clients.
• Provide backup reception duties such as check-ins, payments, phones, and data entry.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and assist with archiving.
