Job summary

ACCESS is seeking a Patient Benefit Specialist to guide patients through benefits, eligibility, and coverage options. You will conduct benefit assessments, assist with enrollment, and coordinate with the care team to support financial navigation and care access.

Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and EPIC EHR is preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. This role includes office-based work with occasional local travel and a focus on patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace insurance, and HMO regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR), especially EPIC, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain financial requirements and benefits to patients; obtain necessary forms and signatures.
• Screen patients for healthcare benefits and eligibility for grants or assistance programs.
• Verify existing coverage and explain options to patients and families.
• Assist with program enrollment based on financial assessments and option selection.
• Enter and update patient benefit information in the EHR and ensure 100% documentation accuracy.
