GENERAL OVERVIEW

This role supports professional nurses by observing patients and ensuring a safe environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist with patient care activities such as accompanying patients to tests, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and providing diversional activities. (40%)
2. Monitor patient safety through observation, intervene physically when necessary, and communicate needs for additional assistance promptly. (30%)
3. Communicate pertinent patient data effectively and promptly. (10%)
4. Document patient behavior and activities according to policy, including medical or behavioral health needs. (10%)
5. Take responsibility for personal educational development. (10%)
6. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR certification and Crisis Management intervention training will be required if not already certified at hire; training provided during orientation.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred

• Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
