Job summary

Ascension seeks a compassionate patient care assistant for the Float Staffing team at Ascension St John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. You will monitor patients and assist at the bedside under RN supervision, helping keep the unit safe and calm.

This full-time day shift role emphasizes reliable attendance, detailed record-keeping, and a commitment to compassionate care. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with BLS preferred.

• Bedside assistance and environment safety.
• Ability to record observations accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient monitoring activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Remain at bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Assist in calming and/or reorienting patient in cases of agitation or confusion.
• Remove visible hazards and/or broken equipment from immediate environment and report as appropriate.
• Record all observations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
