Job summary

Glendora Hospital is expanding and seeks an Admitting Representative to join our team. You will register patients, verify insurance, and ensure timely, accurate data entry in the EMR system while upholding professional, courteous service.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in insurance verification and authorization
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurance regulations as they apply to the admission process
• Understanding Medical Terminology and EMR as they apply to registration

Responsibilities

• Registers patients in the computer system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial data
• Enters or validates demographic information from prior registrations and updates appropriately
• Enters notes for billing, collections, or patient registration
• Reviews physician orders for diagnosis, service type, and signature; enters information correctly for the registration type
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains authorization according to insurer rules
• Obtains patient/representative signatures, issues documents, and explains consent forms (e.g., Conditions of Service, Advanced Directives)
• Minimum 1 year of Admitting/ED experience or equivalent
