Qualifications

• 0–2 years of admissions, customer service or public relations experience required.
• 1–2 years of healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Proficient in electronic registration and order entry systems.
• Strong communication and confidentiality of sensitive information.
• High attention to detail in documentation and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients accurately and obtains signatures on consent/authorization forms.
• Verifies insurance coverage and codes for correct billing and payment.
• Explains ABNs and financial documents to patients and families.
• Counsels self-pay patients on costs, options, and resources.
• Maintains patient valuables and places armbands for identification.
• Reads physician orders and ensures proper entry for departments.
• Notifies departments of arrivals and follows up on delays.
• Assists with bed assignments and coordinates with nursing staff.
• Operates multi-line phones and relays messages promptly.
• Supports emergency codes and adheres to facility policies.
