You will gather demographic and billing information, explain policies, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth patient flow. Responsibilities include greeting patients at the desk, coordinating with inpatient admission/OR/Cath Lab/Radiology, and performing pre-certification and benefits verification within required timeframes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year related experience required in patient admissions/registration.

Responsibilities

• Admits/registers patients to the appropriate department (clinic, hospital, emergency room, day patient).
• Enter all necessary demographic and billing information with timeliness and accuracy in the computer system.
• Explain policies and gather signatures according to hospital policy and procedures.
• Notify nursing station and arrange transport when admitting a patient to the hospital.
• Greet patients, families and visitors at the registration desk in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Coordinate booking and scheduling with inpatient admission, OR, Cath Lab and Radiology, and transmit bookings to concierge.
• Serve as liaison with clinical departments, patients and families regarding admission and registration processes.
• Assist with pre-certification/benefit verification; UHC pre-certification is required within 24 hours of admission.
• May act in the capacity of a cashier.
