Texas Health Arlington Memorial in Arlington, TX is seeking an Admissions Specialist I to warmly welcome patients, gather demographic information and verify insurance and benefits. This PRN role supports accurate registration and effective front-desk coordination in a busy hospital setting.

This position requires strong customer service, data entry, and healthcare terminology skills, with Epic and MS Office proficiency; outpatient scheduling experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year customer service experience required.
• 2 years healthcare/office experience preferred.
• Experience with outpatient scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification preferred.
• CHAA or CPI training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families, setting a calm tone for the visit.
• Gather demographic information and ensure EHR integrity.
• Identify network coverage and obtain/verify benefits and pre-certification.
• Educate on forms and ensure consents are signed where applicable.
• Discuss financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-payments and balances.
• Ensure required payor elements are completed and compliance checked.
• Maintain Epic work queue and productivity dashboards.
• Communicate about insurance plans and potential out-of-network implications.
