Job summary

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is seeking an Admissions Specialist I in Arlington, TX. PRN, rotating shifts between 5:00am-6:00pm on weekdays and 8:00am-3:00pm on Saturdays, serving in the main admissions area.

A compassionate team environment supports growth and quality patient care. The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of customer service experience, and preferred healthcare office experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 Year Relevant Customer Service experience required.
• 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in outpatient scheduling, patient registration, and insurance verification preferred.
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire preferred.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and their families when they arrive, setting the tone for the visit.
• Gather complete demographic information to ensure electronic health record integrity.
• Identify network coverage and obtain/validate healthcare benefits and pre-certification for tests/procedures to maximize reimbursement.
• Educate patients about legal, ethical, and compliance documents; ensure consents are signed.
• Engage with patients on financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays and balances.
• Ensure MSPQ, IMM, ABN and Non-Coverage checks are completed correctly.
• Stay compliant with regulations and organizational policies.
• Maintain customer service and productivity guidelines.
• Mentor peers and participate in staff meetings and special projects.
• Maintain Epic work queue and Employee Scorecard Dashboard.
