Job summary

Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, WY seeks a Full-Time Patient Account Representative to greet and guide patients through the admission process, verify information, and ensure paperwork is accurate. You’ll support a compassionate care journey from check-in onward.

You will need strong communication, attention to detail, and HIPAA awareness to collaborate with departments and maintain smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in patient registration, admitting, scheduling, billing, or medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance processes, referrals, and prior authorizations (or willingness to learn quickly).
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills; able to explain processes clearly and respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Explain hospital regulations and processes, including visiting hours, account payments, and charges.
• Escort patients or arrange escort to the appropriate department.
• Enter and verify admitting/registration information and ensure departments receive accurate patient details.
• Maintain required records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Coordinate with other departments to support efficient patient flow and service delivery.
• Use strong communication skills to build positive relationships with patients, families, providers, coworkers, and community partners.
• Assist visitors with directions and introductions to support a welcoming environment.
• Maintain a professional, organized workspace; replenish supplies as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and assigned trainings; support ongoing professional development.
• Complete work assignments on time with the ability to work independently under normal supervision.
• Report safety hazards and observe safety precautions; follow instructions and equipment manuals.
• Cooperate with other personnel to meet departmental objectives and maintain positive relations across departments.
