Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Hospital Admissions Coordinator to manage patient registrations and reservations for scheduled admissions. You will coordinate bed assignments across medical/surgical and monitored units and obtain pre-certifications to ensure timely admission.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with patient registration, medical terminology, Excel and Microsoft applications.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, hospital personnel and physicians.
• Must display courteous and helpful attitude toward patients and staff.
• Must maintain composure under pressure due to bed shortages.
• Must exhibit good telephone skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate reservations for all patients entering the hospital and assign rooms across units.
• Obtain pre-certifications for scheduled admissions prior to patient entry.
• Verify insurance information for scheduled admissions.
