Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field with five years healthcare billing experience and 18 months in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s degree in Business or related field with seven years healthcare billing experience including 18 months in a supervisory role.
• High School diploma or equivalent with nine years healthcare billing experience including 18 months in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the patient accounts department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
• Oversee posting, reconciliation, collection activities, and customer service functions.
• Monitor productivity, workflows, and performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.
• Assign projects and responsibilities to team members while ensuring deadlines and service expectations are met.
• Provide training, coaching, technical support, and ongoing development opportunities for staff.
• Respond to complex customer concerns and collaborate with patients, internal departments, and external partners to achieve timely resolution.
• Establish and maintain operational controls that support compliance, accuracy, and financial integrity.
• Develop, maintain, and improve departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Prepare and manage departmental operating and capital budgets while monitoring financial performance.
• Support forecasting and financial planning activities, including bad debt and contractual allowance analysis.
• Prepare reports and documentation required for audits, regulatory reviews, and government reporting.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient and financial information.
• Partner with organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
