Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Manager of Patient Accounts to lead a team responsible for the accurate processing, reconciliation, and collection of patient account transactions while delivering compassionate service.

This role blends leadership, financial oversight, customer service, and process improvement, collaborating with staff across the organization to ensure regulatory compliance and timely, solution-focused support for patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field with 5 years in healthcare billing including 18 months in supervisory capacity; या
• Associate’s degree in Business or related field with 7 years in healthcare billing including 18 months in supervisory capacity; या
• High School diploma or equivalent with 9 years in healthcare billing including 18 months in supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the patient accounts department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
• Oversee posting, reconciliation, collection activities, and customer service functions.
• Monitor productivity, workflows, and performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.
• Review collection activities, account follow-up efforts, and transaction processing to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Assign projects and responsibilities to team members while ensuring deadlines and service expectations are met.
• Provide training, coaching, technical support, and ongoing development opportunities for staff.
• Respond to complex customer concerns and collaborate with patients, internal departments, and external partners to achieve timely resolution.
• Establish and maintain operational controls that support compliance, accuracy, and financial integrity.
• Develop, maintain, and improve departmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Prepare and manage departmental operating and capital budgets while monitoring financial performance.
• Support forecasting and financial planning activities, including bad debt and contractual allowance analysis.
• Prepare reports and documentation required for audits, regulatory reviews, and government reporting.
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient and financial information.
• Partner with organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
