Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Patient Account Resolution Specialist to promptly resolve troubled accounts in an exception-based environment. The role covers front and back-end revenue cycle analysis and requires strong communication with patients, physicians, and staff.

Ideal candidates have at least five years in patient billing/collections and solid knowledge of billing, collections, and HIPAA guidelines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in patient billing/collections or insurance, preferably in hospital revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Delivers a top-tier experience to patients, guarantors, and internal stakeholders.
• Reviews revenue cycle elements to identify where accounts became troubled and offers resolutions.
• Initiates patient contact via phone calls, letters, and skip tracing as defined by guidelines.
• Maintains accurate documentation in system notes and balance breakdowns.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and professional communication at all times.
