Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical insurance types (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04, HIPAA and billing regulations.
• Ability to learn patient database and billing systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and emails for the Billing Office and respond to patient account inquiries.
• Review and explain patient billing statements, insurance coverage, and account details.
• Process payments, refunds, account adjustments, and generate statements.
• Establish payment plans and collect outstanding balances.
• Review and process financial hardship applications and verify income documentation.
• Escalate unresolved issues to supervisors or leadership when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the billing system.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and internal teams.

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Shift: 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical insurance types (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid)
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04 claim forms, HIPAA, and billing/insurance regulations
• Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of the patient database and billing systems
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance benefits
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience required
• Medical office or patient accounts experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and accuracy
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
