Job summary

Talentify is seeking a full-time Patient Account Representative to provide financial support to clients under facility management. This onsite role focuses on applying for state and local programs to secure funding and requires strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities include reviewing claims, rebilling when needed, assisting with PA MA applications via COMPASS, verifying benefits, collecting copays, and maintaining productivity with daily accounting and reporting.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED; required.
  • Three+ years’ admissions/collections experience in a hospital setting.
  • Psychiatric experience preferred.

  • Call and status outstanding claims with third party payors.
  • Review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill.
  • Utilize claims clearing house to review and correct claims; resubmit electronically when available.
  • Review explanation of benefits to ensure claims processed and paid correctly.
  • Complete adjustment forms with supporting documentation.
  • Maintain daily productivity using the patient accounting system and reports (target 30–40 accounts/day).
  • Prorate patient accounts and monitor balances in correct financial class.
  • Report weekly overview to BOD and participate in AR meetings.
  • Assist financial counselors as needed.

Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Patient Account Representative to provide financial support to clients under the direction of facility management. This position will primarily be responsible for working to assist clients by applying for state and local programs to ensure the most funding available. Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Excel) is required. The Patient Account Representative position: May review claims issues and make corrections as needed and rebill; Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that claim processed and paid correctly; Complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation; Use the state's system (COMPASS) to apply for PA MA; Use PROMISE to check the status and client's MA; Help clients obtain verifications, that they will need to qualify for MA; Do Insurance Benefit verifications; Collect copays and deductibles; other duties as assigned by management.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (hours: daylight)

Location: This is an onsite position

Salary: Starting at $16.00/hr

  • Prorate patient accounts and monitor that balance due is in the correct financial class.
  • Report an overview of the week to the BOD and participate in AR meetings.
  • Gather and interpret data from system and understands appropriate course of action to take and initiates time-sensitive and strategic steps resulting in payment.
  • Assist financial counselors as needed.
  • Alert Financial Counselors and Business Office Director of all benefit eligibility matters that suggest or challenge reimbursement.
  • Use the State's system (COMPASS) to apply for PA MA
  • Use PROMISE to check the status and client's MA
  • Do Insurance Benefit verification
  • Collect copyas and deductibles
  • Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft products
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three or more years’ prior admissions and or collections experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Psychiatric experience preferred.
