Job summary

U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. is hiring an Onsite Patient Account Representative in Houston to support billing, data verification, and collections for patient portions.

This role is onsite at 1300 W Sam Houston Pkwy S, Suite 300, Houston, TX, and requires attention to detail, strong communication, and proficient use of billing software. You will collaborate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to ensure timely reimbursement while maintaining accurate patient records and compliance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 1–2 years of medical billing and collections experience.
• Knowledge of medical billing and coding, insurance regulations, and healthcare reimbursement policies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Waystar, Japari and other computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with patients to resolve billing and payment issues.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in patient accounts.
• Insurance collections, claim status inquiries, claim follow-up, and claim billing.
• Process payments and refunds.
• Review and update patient insurance information.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and verify coverage.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient account information.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve processes and ensure timely reimbursement.
• Maintain knowledge of current insurance regulations and coding requirements.

Your role will be critical in our billing and claims department, and you will be asked to facilitate procedural requirements, including data elements, insurance verification, authorization for services, and collections for all patient portions, including prior balances.
