Job summary

Covenant Health in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Patient Account Coordinator for the Corporate, Business Office. This full-time role (80 hours per pay period) on day shift supports the KBOS team to manage patient accounts, resolve complex issues, and coordinate workflow to ensure timely and accurate reimbursements.

The PAC will train staff, oversee processes under supervision, and ensure adherence to HIPAA, CMS, TennCare, and payer guidelines.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in healthcare business office operations.
• Proficiency with HIPAA, CMS, TennCare guidelines and third-party payer requirements.
• Ability to train and mentor Patient Account staff and coordinate tasks for optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient accounting processes per department policies under the Manager/Supervisor.
• Coordinate workflow to identify and address payer and patient account issues.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of patient accounts and maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Provide training and support for team members and assist in quality improvement efforts.
• Attend meetings and participate in department initiatives and projects.
