Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of collection, medical billing and customer service experience preferred.
• Typing and computer skills with accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Uphold UT Physicians' standard of quality customer service.
• Handle and resolve patient inquiries via phone, in writing or in person. Follows up with departments as warranted.
• Respond to customer inquiries with a professional positive attitude.
• Monitor and follow up with patients, insurance companies and third-party payers.
• Troubleshooting billing problems and issues.
• File insurance claims and coordinate with the appropriate department.
• Set up monthly payment arrangements and process Financial Hardship Applications as needed.
• Edit bad debt write-offs or collection adjustments as needed.
• Document on the account procedures taken to resolve inquiries.
• Work from AR and contact patients to resolve outstanding balances.
• Prioritize and work in a high-volume environment.
• Adhere to workflow design and meet job performance standards.
• Assist other staff members as needed.
